The weather has got the better of us and the pitches are out of bounds all weekend.

All games and training for every age group are cancelled this weekend

 

U13 Northern

Percy Park 17, Northern 10

After a late pitch inspection at McCracken Park the decision was made to switch the fixture to Preston Avenue and so both squads and their supporters had to get on the road and travel to North Shields and saw Park maintain their winning run with a hard fought game against the defending County Champions.

U13 Novos

Novocastrians 0, Percy Park 50.

Park attacked from the kick off and for about 15 minutes their opponents barely had a sniff of the ball by which time the result was already decided. Novos’ line was successfully crossed five times in the first half and three in a more competitive second half but the coaches perhaps were more pleased by the fact that Park’s defence was not breached at all.

U13 v Darlington Mowden Park

Without hitting the heights of December’s away win against Alnwick, Park still had enough to beat a determined DMP side which commendably played hard from the first to last whistle. Park finished the first “third” comfortably leading 17-0 despite some players seemingly being on the pitch in body alone as in fact was the case throughout the match. What was a hard fought victory extended Park’s winning streak to six games and took the team’s points scored total over the 400 mark for the season.

U13 Alnwick

Alnwick 12, Percy Park 31.

Ten minutes into the game Park looked to be on course for a very heavy defeat after gifting Alnwick two try scoring opportunities which were ruthlessly taken.
The first try was converted, the second not, and trailing 12-0, Park’s pack then produced a drive which took play deep into their opponent’s territory. It was this forward effort proved to be the spark that ignited a stirring comeback.
